Solid Timber Vanities With Undermount Basins
One of the many things to consider when creating a new look for your bathroom is firstly what style of vanity to select and then what style of basin to go with it! If maximising storage is high on your agenda, then we suggest choosing a bench mounted basin.
However, if you prefer the look of an undermount basin, then there are a few details worth thinking about … so please read on!
If you have your heart set on an undermount basin, we recommend you also go with a stone topped vanity. Moisture can seep in between the area where a timber topped surface meets the basin, which can cause damage over time. Stone provides a worry free, moisture safe, long lasting and easy to clean surface for areas of high use! We love to use options from the Stone Ambassador range. You can read more about this product here.
An undermount basin essentially sits inside a vanity, meaning there is no way you can have a functional drawer directly underneath. To solve this issue, we can configure the vanity to have cupboards instead of drawers located directly underneath or a fixed panel to achieve a similar look to a drawer. Drawers are of course fine to have in the lower part of the vanity.
All of our vanities are custom made to order, so feel free to run you ideas past us, we will always check with the workshop team to advise on what is the best solution for each and every one of your projects in the early planning stages. We have created all sorts of vanities in the past, with a myriad of different basins and internal configurations!
Once a project has been discussed and our quote accepted, our head furniture maker considers all technical requirements before getting started on your design sketch. Luke sends drawings for your approval before the very first piece of timber is cut. This involvement during the entire process ensures that your custom made vanity is not only beautiful but always functional!
