Osmo Polyx Oil
Natural Oil And Wax Finish For Timber Furniture
Osmo Polyx Oil is a natural oil and wax based finish for timber furniture and joinery including high-use surfaces such as dining tables, kitchen bench tops, solid timber cabinetry and vanities.
We love to use this product to protect the custom furniture we create as it is easy to apply, non-toxic, natural-looking, hard-wearing and easy to maintain. Osmo Polyx ticks all of these boxes.
The oil components in the product penetrate deeply to enhance the natural beauty of the timber by accentuating the grain and texture without changing the tone. The wax then sits on top of the surface to create a micro-porous water and stain-resistant barrier that is silky soft to touch whilst enabling the timber to breathe.
Polyx Oil, once fully cured, will not crack, flake, peel, blister or water mark and is stain resistant against wine, beer, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juices, milk and water. The surface is considered to be cured 28 days after the second application of the product.
Osmo Polyx is also very easy to spot repair and renovate as the surface only needs to be cleaned rather than all traces of the last application needing to be removed.
The finished timber is best maintained using the Osmo maintenance products of the wash and care gentle wash and the liquid wax spray which has been formulated specifically to be used with a Polyx finished surface.
